Today we launch our brand new eco-friendly Dignity bags! These will be used to return ashes and keepsakes to our clients and are fully recyclable.
When re-designing the bags we wanted to take into consideration the impact they could have on the environment. We discussed this with our supplier, British Tags, who recommended removing the lamination in favour of an unlaminated craft paper. Along with the new paper, we have opted for cotton handles – this means that the bags can be recycled and are fully biodegradable.
The paper used to create the bags is FSC certified which means they fit with our strong Dignity Ethics. “In order to be given FSC certification a forest must be managed in an environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable manner. This is what makes the FSC system unique and ensures that a forest is well-managed from the protection of indigenous people’s rights to the methods of felling trees. Forests that meet these strict standards are given FSC certification and the timber allowed to carry the FSC label.”
Many of our clients choose to also order memorials and keepsakes to remember their pet, so our bags are a big part of the overall Dignity service. We think the new design, which is both simple and elegant, reflects the dignified and caring ethos we strive for.
