Losing a pet doesn’t follow a schedule. If your beloved pet has passed away on a Sunday – or is in the care of a vet who needs to arrange a collection – we want you to know that Dignity is here, even at the weekend.

Sundays at Dignity work a little differently. Our crematorium is closed, which means we aren’t able to offer ashes collections or same-day appointments. What we can offer is a Sunday bring-in service for families, and a driver collection service for veterinary practices – so that your pet, or your client’s pet, is never left waiting.

For Families: Bringing Your Pet to Us on an Emergency Sunday

We know how hard it can be to make any decision in the hours after a pet passes. If you need to bring your pet to us on a Sunday, we’ve tried to make the process as gentle and straightforward as possible.

What you need to know:

  • Sunday bring-ins are available if you call our Sunday line – 07917 665098
  • Please call ahead between 9am – 10am to be able to arrange a bring-in appointment. This helps us ensure someone is ready to receive your pet with the care they deserve.
  • When you arrive, a member of our team will be there to guide you through what happens next. You don’t need to have made any decisions about cremation arrangements – that can wait until you’re ready.
  • Please note: on Sundays we’re unable to return ashes or take same-day cremation appointments. We’ll talk you through timings when you arrive or when you call.

There is no right way to feel on a day like this. We simply ask that you let us take care of your pet from the moment they arrive with us.

For Veterinary Professionals: Emergency Sunday Collections from Your Practice

We understand that end-of-life cases don’t pause for the working week. If a pet in your care has passed on a Sunday and their family has chosen Dignity, our driver collection service means we can come to you.

What you need to do:

  1. Complete and send the pet collection form to us ahead of collection – please make it clear that this is for a Sunday collection so it’s routed to the right team.
  2. Alternatively, call our Sunday number – 07917 665098 – and our driver will arrange to come to your practice directly.
  3. Please note: ashes collection and same-day appointments are not available on Sundays. If a family is expecting their pet’s ashes by a specific date, please factor Sunday timings into any conversations you have with them.

We know your time is limited, especially at weekends. Our Sunday services is designed to take the coordination off your hands so you can focus on your clients.
