When you lose a pet, the house can feel very different.
The quiet feels louder. The spaces they once filled feel heavier. And sometimes, you find yourself wishing you could see their face again. Not just in photos, but in a way that captures who they truly were.
That’s where Lucy’s work begins.
A creative spirit from the start
Lucy has always been creative. As a child, art was where she felt most at home. She studied it throughout secondary school and college, developing her skills and exploring different mediums.
But alongside her love of art was another influence — her mum, who ran her own business. Lucy spent years watching her build something from nothing, creating something that felt personal and purposeful.
That example stayed with her.
By the time she was in college, Lucy knew she didn’t just want to create art, she wanted to build something of her own.
Finding her medium
Over the past six years, Lucy has built her business specialising in custom pet portraiture.
Her preferred medium is pencil — particularly prismacolour coloured pencils and graphite for black and white pieces — where she can focus on the smallest details: the shine in an eye, the softness of fur, the curve of an ear.
She has also explored oil painting, continually pushing herself creatively and offering families different options depending on what feels right for them.
Every portrait is hand-drawn. No templates. No shortcuts. Just careful, considered work designed to honour one pet at a time.

More than artwork
For many families, commissioning a portrait isn’t about decoration.
It’s about connection.
A portrait can:
- Capture a pet’s personality in a way photos sometimes don’t
- Create a lasting focal point in the home
- Offer a gentle way to honour their memory
- Provide comfort during grief
Each piece is completely unique; a one-of-a-kind artwork created specifically for that family and their pet.
Giving our best, always
At Dignity, we understand that remembrance looks different for everyone. For some, it’s a quiet walk in our Woodlands. For others, it’s a keepsake, a scattering ceremony, or something deeply personal displayed at home.
That’s why we value people like Lucy — creatives who pour time, skill and genuine care into what they do.
Because when a pet has given you their whole life, honouring them deserves nothing less than our very best.
