Thank You Cards

We would like to thank everyone who has been kind enough to send us their cards, letters, poems, pictures and emails over the years. When someone has taken the time to write to us or just phones to say “thank you” after we have helped look after their pet it really does mean the world to us. We keep all the cards sent to us and display the most recent in our Farewell Rooms™. Here are some excerpts from cards & letters that have been sent to us by people who have had to use our Service. What shines through in each case is the genuine love the owners have for their pets and the wonderful, irreplaceable memories that will always be with them.  If you would like to make any comments about our service please click here, or visit our Facebook page.

Ollie Simpson

We would like to say Thank You so much to Dignity for helping us to get through a very sad day on the 8th June, when we had to say our final farewells to our darling bearded collie 'Ollie'. This was our second visit to Dignity, the first visit being in 2011, and we don't know what we would have done on both occasions without their help, compassion and expertise. Thank You Dignity. The photo is of our darling boy Ollie in happier times. We miss him so, so much.

Mabel McFadyen

So glad that we chose Dignity to take care of Mabel after she became too poorly to stay with us. Every step of the way they guided us through the level of her care in their hands, leaving us feeling absolutely reassured that we made the right decision to entrust her to Dignity. My son and I collected Mabel this morning and I can only add that the service from start to finish has been superb. It's nice to know that this level of care is available to our special ones and so pleased that my vet was able to recommend Dignity - took all the worry of what we would do after she left us away. Thank you for your care of our very special Mabel.

Cahill Trump

On the 17th May myself and my family had to say goodbye to our faithful friend Cahill. The service at Dignity was exceptional, everything was a perfect way to say our final goodbye. The staff are extremely helpful and understanding and we knew our boy was in safe hands. I would highly recommend Dignity, we think of our special boy every day and thanks to Dignity we have lovely keepsakes of him with us always.

My vet offered the services of two pet cremation services however, advised that Dignity Pet Crematorium Services was the more respectful and individual, this is the one I opted for. A day or two later I was contacted by Dignity Pet Crematorium Services by an understanding, respectful and empathetic member staff. The services available were explained to me and it was suggested I have a look at the website so I could consider in my own time. Being a man I was reluctant to shed a tear in public so put on a resilient and jovial persona. Made my choices and subsequently collected the remains of my pet, along with a paw print and a lock of hair. Once again, holding back tears I made light conversation. The member of staff I dealt with read me easily and interacted with me accordingly and empathetically, for which I am very grateful. The site itself provides a calm, peaceful and tranquil environment for quiet contemplation and leaves you feeling you have done the best you can for your pet. I would recommend Dignity Pet Crematorium to anyone who wishes to provide a dignified, respectful and individual closure for a loved animal.

Gina Nikolov

Many thanks for your compassionate assistance in the death of my dog. I and some of Shumba’s friends took his ashes into the beautiful woodland near Henley-on-Thames where he grew up, and scattered them into the quarry where he loved to chase rabbits. It was such a lovely crisp autumn day, and your service has really helped us overcome our loss. I have attached a photo of him about 3 years ago, which is what I now remember him as. Once again thank you all so much

April-Rose and Spencer

Sadly we helped look after Daisy for them in 2001. Their picture shows how much they loved Daisy and brought tears to our eyes when it arrived. The following email and picture was sent to us by April-Rose and Spencer.
Hello my name is April-Rose and I am six. Thank you for looking after Daisy when she died. I would like to tell you I have decorated her box that you gave Mummy and Daddy. I have sent this picture to you so you can see it too. Love April-Rose and my brother Spencer who is two

Dear Mrs Spurgeon Having unfortunately been unable to accompany my wife today to collect the casket containing the ashes of our little cat Darius, I wanted just to drop you this note now to express our sincere appreciation for the service provided by The Spurgeon Family. We thank you for the very sympathetic way in which we have been received and dealt with. As before, we found your arrangements so very efficient, but certainly fully deserving the name you have chosen for your business. “Dignity” clearly does mean something to you and we, and no doubt all your other clients, appreciate and respect that. Thank you
Dear Carole & Barry My daughter and I would like to thank you very much indeed for the kindness shown to us when our beloved Lucy died. We are delighted with your prompt service and know Lucy was in good hands for her final journey. We will never forget her unconditional love and devotion over 14 wonderful years. We have her casket in our sitting room. With our sincere thanks…

Barry

I would just like to say a big thank you for treating Beau with such love and the dignity that she so deserved, even though she was taken from me so early in her life. I know she will be in my heart ‘till it’s my turn to join her. Losing Beau was the worst thing that could ever happen in my life but everyone at Dignity made it bearable. Best wishes, Barry
Dear Carole, Barry, Debbie & Kevin Just a short note to say a big thank you for the wonderful service you provided me on the loss of my special baby Reggie. You have been understanding, respectful and so very helpful. Thank you so much for carrying out the cremation so quickly and going out of your way to drop him off at the vets so I could have my babes home where he belongs. Reggie was my shadow and I miss him so very much, now at least he will be with me forever. Can I just end by thanking you once again for making such a painful process so bearable
Dear Kevin. My wife and I would like to express our sincere thanks to you and your organisation for the considerate and sympathetic way in which you assisted us with our dog, Charlie. My wife was particularly thankful for the opportunity to quietly say goodbye to him, especially in view of the unexpected manner in which he was taken from us. We are both missing him greatly. We have spoken to many of out friends and family of your excellent and caring service, and have no doubt, that they will be in touch when the need arises. With many thanks…
To Barry & Carole Spurgeon May I, on behalf of my wife and myself, offer our heartfelt thanks on the outstanding way in which you carried out our wishes in respect of our beloved cat Mittens. Thanking you once again…
We would like to thank you for your kind words & understanding on the loss of our dog “Freddie”. It is obvious that at some time you went through the same heartache as we have. Where as no one can replace Freddie, your personal touch helped ease our pain a little knowing that she was looked after at the end. Many thanks…
Dear Barry and Carole Just a short letter to thank you both for the overwhelming support and sympathy that myself and my wife received from you when we recently visited you with our much loved cat “Wednesday”. In my profession as a Veterinary Surgeon it is very easy to become blasé to other people’s feelings, especially when dealing with such issues as terminally ill animals and euthanasia. It is impossible to describe the gamut of emotion one undergoes until it is experienced first hand. Both my wife & I have struggled to come to terms with our loss but it has been of great comfort to us both to remember that “Wednesday” received the best possible care both during and after his shortened life. My wife and I are eternally grateful and forever much in your debt for the professional yet obviously deeply caring attention you bestowed upon us both and I have no hesitation in recommending your service to anyone who may feel themselves in need as we did. Our heartfelt thanks to you both…
Dear Barry and Carole I felt I must email you to thank you for your help and sympathy following the death of our beloved car Oscar. It was a friend of mine that told me of your existence and I’m so glad they did. We knew we didn’t want Oscar left anywhere and wanted to stay with him for as long as possible. You were all so helpful and understanding when I phoned with questions, keeping things as simple as possible but still being so efficient. We were truly thankful for the service you offered us and I would not hesitate to recommend your services to any other pet owners who find themselves in the same position. Thanks again for everything…
